Headbands for boys....yey or nay

Bear with me. I'm pretty liberal in thinking that boys and girls can dress how the want. It's not all blue for boys and dresses for girls. I used to make and design clothes for a living and think I've spotted a potential gap in the market. My youngest boy has beautiful head of hair. Not super long but it tends to get in his eyes a bit. Am I nuts for thinking cool boys headbands should be a thing? Why should boys always have the same short hair cut. I may be totally thinking left field here just think they would look so cool with funky leggings and tees.....so yeah thoughts please

I can’t imagine I would ever produce a child with enough hair for a hair band. If I did I would just buy a cheap supermarket one. It would not need to be blue or cool.

Already a thing OP! I know tons of boys who wear headbands. Usually a zigzag plastic design but there's many variations. Does sound cool though!

Other people would probably buy it but I can’t imagine it would be a huge market.

We have some headbands that are unisex. They work for my boy and girls.

4 year old ds has hair down to his mid back and wears headbands if his hairs not tied up, we will just buy ones marketed for girls but most of the time they dont seem to be overly gendered, theres plenty of black/blue/cool patterns of headbands not just pink though DS tends to choose the most sparkly.

Nice to hear sone people actually use headbands on their sons. I just like the idea of matching leggings and headbands like you can get for girls. Wasn't thinking of breaking into the market as to be honest wouldn't have the time just wondering if I made some up if it was worth taking to baby fairs etc.

My baby DS has worn his sisters hair clips since 5 months old. We did get him a cool bandanna type headband on holiday last year.

My son's is of the longish floppy hair brigade! When he was younger I would probably have brought a funky headband. Now if it irritates him he borrows his sisters brown plastic one!

My ds is of the floppy hair variety. I’m trying to convince him to wear a band but he won’t. I can only see his chin now.

I agree. Even if you get a gender neutral colour it always feels like they were designed for girls.

I'd love 'boy' hair clips too as DS has a hair that falls like someone from a 90s Indie band and he keeps inhaling it up his snotty nose.

Nice to see im not the only mum that would use them I may have a play around and see what I can come up with. Much better than "just cut his hair off " which is the usual response I get

You could make up matching headbands and leggings for boys to take to baby fairs, thats a great idea and I would buy them but whats to stop people assuming they were just for little girls and just buying them for their dd's? Would you just be making them in traditionally boy colours/patterns or labeling them as for boys?
They would sell regardless so would be better off just being sold without reference to gender in a variety of patterns which would hopefully attract a few long haired boys as well.

I wouldn't label them as boys or girls I would just probably put unisex as my daughter never wears pink she loves funky dino and car prints. I'd possibly just take my super cute ds with me modelling some
