Hi guys
Last week I posted re: areas to live in Birmingham and got some helpful posts. If we did make the move it would be somewhere like Solihull or a quiet suburb of B'ham.

We came to Northampton from London 5 years ago. I love our house here especially the garden which we put a lot of work into. I like the fact that Northampton is small and we can get to places quickly and don't spend half our lives in traffic.

However we do miss the nuances of a bigger city - the varied one-off shops and restaurants, the way areas of a city can be so different, the different types of people, more job opportunities, more stuff to do/see with DS when he gets older, etc, etc

DS been settled in his new nursery since January and due to start school in 2008. Got a few friends here but no really close relationships or ties.

I don't know what to do! Help.

Birmingham is fantastic. And so easy to get out of (sorry, family joke). The countryside around Brum is absolutely unbelievable. I think Solihull is a great idea. Ds changing nursery will deffo be an upheaval but he'll cope!! I'd say if your DH would like the job and you can do the logistics then do it - but remember what you like about Northampton and try to recreate it in your new place?

Yes, that's why I thought somewhere like Solihull would be a good idea. It kind of makes sense to move, but I guess it will be an upheaval for all of us.
