I am on BT internet mail and want to block someone - does anyone know if it's possible and how to do it?
Thanks

It is possible, dont know how you do it though

there should be a facility to leave them at the server, if you collect them via outlook express

Y0rkshirelass · 14/05/2007 09:34

I don't think it uses outlook express, I just log on through www.btinternet.com.
I thought it was possible but I can't find the right bit, I've searched under 'blocking', 'barring', 'stopping', 'rules', etc and can't find anything. Maybe it's not possible.

I found out yesterday that my email address has been passed to someone who I don't want to receive anything from.

go to tools at top of the outlook express page and click on messagelist, you should be able to do this from there from drop down list select block sender

Thanks mummylin, but it doesn't use outlook express.
I've emailed their helpdesk, just thought maybe someone on here might have done it.

Once you've logged into your mail on the web, at the top right of your inbox page, there should be a link called "Options". Click on that.

Then there is a link under there for "Block addresses". Click on that and then follow the instructions to block an email address.

Excellent, I found it, thankyou!

If you block someone's email, do they know they are blocked?

Y0rkshirelass · 14/05/2007 09:55

Um, not sure. It does say that emails from blocked addresses would be deleted automatically, so I guess they would only know if they put a read-receipt on their email to you.
