my older two (6 and 3) were always in separate rooms, until one night about 8 months ago when ds (3) announced he was "going camping" in dd's room. He's been there ever since! They both like the reassurance of the other in the room, only had about 2 nights of over-excited naughtiness, and it has cut down the night-time visiting to our bed so hurrah for that!

I was absolutely determined when I was pg that the baby was going to share with its older sister and leave me a room to work in - whether male or female!

MB is right. Let them share. My two dds (as it turned out) love sharing and I think it's great for them.
