A spa day out for the two of us - any suggestions?

My DP is off work for the last couple of weeks of August, before he takes up a new job. He's doing childcare for the first week (our childminder's on holiday) but then, for the last Bank Holiday weekend the Inferiorettes are off our hands for three days. And - quite uncharacteristically, as anyone who's ever met my DP will agree - he's suggested we do a spa day together. And, inspired by my blissful experiences at the Sanctuary, I'd really like to clear the time and go for it.

Any suggestions as to where we should go? We've got some ideas, and I have done my best to explain that no he can't crash the Sanctuary, but any recommendations welcome!

You're all roaring with laughter at the thought, aren't you?

I think the Elemis Day spa in London does Rasul type treatments where two or more people can go for mud treatments together which would be very nice. Not tried that treatment but bought my mum a ritual there and she loved it....I have tried the Mandarin Oriental which has nice separate treatments but you can both be in the hydrotherapy pool / sauna beforehand. HTH. Bit of a spa menu junky (rather than frequenter).

i went here a few years back... was nice, but doubt it can compare to sanctuary

Can recommend OneSpa in Edinburgh. Totally blissful thermal suite which is a series of beautiful saunas and steamrooms in different styles from round the world with special aromatherapy oils and nice lighting. Outside hydropool too (jacuzzi to you and me). End of August is the Edinburgh Festival which is good too. Have a nice time wherever you go.

I'd recommend Lucknam Park just outside of Bath. Fab hotel and food and Clarins spa. DH is treating me to a week there next week as it will be our last big bash before the little monkey comes along.....

I think the Espa Spa called Sequoia at the Grove in Watford was the best one yet. Just the most relaxing lovely wonderful day. They do couple treatment rooms and a private little dining room for spa users only. Theres an amazing black pool and jacuzzi upstairs and a Sea salt vitality pool downstairs. Its decorated very beautifully including amazing bedrooms. The staff are freindly warm and thoughtful. Sequoia
