Thanks to everyone who voted for Sherborne House on BBC2 Restoration. We won the South West and I'm off up to London town for the Final on Sunday night (BBC2 9pm).

There will be a Restoration Final Preview on Friday night, (9pm BBC2) when the phone number will be televised - we don't know it yet!

If you haven't got anything better to do - or a favourite building of your own - please VOTE FOR US!

I spent the day helping to tie a giant silver bow over the front of the House so now it looks very pretty .

Thanks so much all of you,

Love E x

insommniac bump

ScummyMummy · 08/08/2004 08:25

Griff just said warmly into my ear "You have voted for... Sherborne House". I think you've got a good chance, Enid. Merely the fact that it was built by someone called Benjamin Bastard has to make it practically irresistible, no? Hope so, anyway.

enid · 08/08/2004 08:34

thanks gingerbear!

lol scummy, its a good point and one that the bbc have failed to make the most of IMO

Look out for a tall-ish, browny/blonde haired woman with a streaming nose and a handful of tissues trying desperately to look excited at being outside in the wind and rain at Hampton Court, rather than tucked up on the sofa at home with a glass of wine and some Benelyn

Are you wearing your sexy Aigle wellies to the ceremony, Enid? I do hope so.

Poor you having to hang about cheerily at Hampton Court when you're not well. Why don't you take some Benelyn and wine with you in hip flasks and tell any shocked bystanders that they were Bastard's favourite drinks and you are gulping them down for luck? It may help us to spot you on telly, which would be an added bonus...

ScummyMummy · 08/08/2004 19:00

Bump- only two hours to go before we can spot Enid on Restoration!

motherinferior · 08/08/2004 19:02

Just done it - will flip over from Waking the Dead to see you, babe!

leander · 08/08/2004 21:24

bump

ScummyMummy · 08/08/2004 21:43

Wow- I'm sure I just saw Enid! If it was you you are gorg as Ialways suspected and v articulate too and you don't sound like Celia Johnson as you once said many moons ago. (Not that that would be bad.)

ScummyMummy · 08/08/2004 21:44

p.s. You have long blondy brown hair and Griff said your campaign was great if you are the one I think you are!

MadameButterfly · 08/08/2004 21:50

My vote is in

Piffleoffagus · 08/08/2004 21:51

VOting... it was done!!!!

MadameButterfly · 08/08/2004 22:17

THe old Grammar school & Saracens Head in Burmingham won.

ScummyMummy · 08/08/2004 22:17

Rah! Boo hiss. it must have been a fix. I voted 4 times for you.

princesspeahead · 08/08/2004 22:22

enid was that you pointing at your chest in a most suggestive manner?! or were you the spokeswoman? anyway I've sorry you didn't win - I voted 4 times on Friday and got carried away and voted another 3 times this evening.

enid · 09/08/2004 10:05

I was the one pointing at my chest! We had a great time and got very rowdy with Griff and poor old Ptolemy .

Brilliant fun, we are all sorry that we didn't win but we heard today that our lottery grant application is in its final stages - so we'll get the money somehow!!

We felt a bit upset that we were presented as a kind of stately home with a mural, they completely ignored the fact that we are running the house as a successful art gallery and community arts space...oh well.

Poor Derry Playhouse, they were GUTTED and furious as they had been built up as the winners by the press.

Also, Natasha Kaplinksky...wow, the power of make up [meow icon!]

of course I meant to say thank you so much for all your support! (See how easily I have forgotten you all now I've had a taste of fame )

If you are ever in Sherborne, Dorset, please pop in to Sherborne House and ask for the ArtsLink office, I'd love to say hi !
