watch out for size of bithday card ...bloody post office

mum sent DD1 a card for her birthday ( not a huge one) with grandaughter on it. I got a card posted through the door that I had to go and pick it up. Had to pay 6p extra for the size of the envelope and £1 cost to them for the trouble. This card had a first class stamp on it. This never crossed my mind when sending cards

yes its not just weight now its size

we had exactly the same thing !! cost us the same. the card was posted by an ex postman and wasn't heavy just a mm or so over the new size rules.

I only went to get it in case it had money in, they prob didn;t spend that much on the card in the first place!

Yeah it got me on Mothers day.
Weird though because it charged my MIL but not my mum.
