No household bills in over a year!!!

We moved here at the end of July 2003 last year. We have electricity with N Power and water with Yorkshire Water. We have no gas anyway. However we have still not yet had any bills. We have sent them our details and meter readings on several occassions and have sent the a number of e-mails and letters. I have tried ringing but not yet got through to talk to someone - no one ever answers even if you sit on the end of the phone for an hour.

What can we do next?
How can we get a bill?

I am really not impressed but feel stuck!

Maybe you could look up the name of their chief exec, and their head office, at companies house (or search the business pages of a broadsheet paper, or BBC) and then write to them.
We're still getting bills from NPower although we don't get our electricity from them. Previous owner did but we cancelled on moving last Feb. They won't take 'no' for an answer!

Right resulkts. Persistence has paid off and I spoke to both.

ELECTRICITY

Noe registered and they had original meter reading we sent them. From tomorrow I can find out when ext bill is due, and we can arrange to spread cost over a period of time if we wish.

WATER

CClassic. We are not registered AT ALL with the water and it will take some time to set up as a new place. Therefore, as it is their fault they will NOT charge us anything at all for our water bill for the past year. If we do move before it is sorted, we will simply not have a water bill full stop here!!!

Great news re water! As to the other - it's just NPower - we had an absolutely dreadful time with them and it took months to get it all sorted out (worst was the aggressive salesman who lied to get into our block and refused to leave).

We had huge aggressive bloke came round from npower when we left too, saying no way could get cheaper, why dont we just re-sign etc? Thank god the bloke was here, i nearly wet myself.

Npower are infamous for their aggressive, misleading sales tactics. They been exposed repeatedly, promised to clean up, and just carry on doing it all over again. I think they've even been fined but clearly don't care. They must be making enough money by tricking people that it outweighs bad publicity and penalties. Chair and chief exec should be put in the stocks and pelted, IMO.

Well I will be changing over to another one if it is NPower when/if we move. Not happy with all the messing and chasing about.
