Chancellor's cash gift to babies born after September 2002

Sorry, another financial question from me. Very money orientated this evening!

I seem to remember that Gordon Brown promised a cash gift to all babies born after September 2002. Ds2 was born in October 2002 and I'm still waiting for his spondoolix to come through.

Has this been quietly dropped, or am I missing something?

I think its still being set up, but will be backdated as it were. The kids won't have any access to the money until they are 18 anyway, so I think there is no great rush.

it does exist - child trust fund - money won't be paid for a couple of year yet and no access to it until they are 18.

Thanks for your replies. I wondered if ds2 was missing out on something, but I guess I'll hang fire for a couple of years before I start demanding his money from Gordon.
