I want to vote - is there any way?

Because I've been in secure accomodation since after Xmas I don't have a poll card. I've only just moved into my own place ( a week or so ago) so I guess I'm not on the electoral roll anywhere.

Would a card have been sent to the refuge I was at? If not, is there anything I can do in time?

I have worked as staff at a polling station a few times now: If you are not on the electoral roll now then you won't unfortunately be able to vote this Thursday. You can check to see if you are on the roll from when you were in the refuge by phoning the local council for that area. If so then you can vote. (They should also be able to tell you which polling station to go to). If you are not on the roll ask them to send you forms to add you on for another time. You don't need to take your card with you to vote (though it helps the staff on duty if you do!!)
