If anyone has any ideas about how to set about this - please let me know...

I did a maisy-esque cake for my daughter when she was three. I made a train cake (really simple out of swiss rolls and other cuts of cake) and then stuck a little statue of maisy (which I think you can get in lots of toy shops now) in the train, so it looked like maisy's train. It wasn't perfect (I'm pretty crap at icing) but my daughter, who loves maisy seemed suitably impressed.

Could you send a Maisy photo here and stick it on? Not ideal, I know.

We made one for my daughter's birthday - a large sponge cake cooked in a roasting tin, then cut out a Maisy shape (she's very two dimensional so didn't attempt a 3D cake) then iced it and used liquorice (from those catherine wheel sweets) to make the black lines round the edges. It worked well and was easier than I had expected. We used a swiss roll for the tail. We used that roll out white icing and then coloured icing on top. This, plus apricot jam, held the bits of cake together.

Fantastic Mrs Wobble great advice and along the lines of what I had meant to do anyway... but as the day draws near, I was hoping one of the Stores had already done it for me...
