My six year old son has asked to have a teddy bears picnic for his friends during the holiday. Although the boys have tough exteriors they're all softies underneath! Does anybody have any ideas for garden games/activities that might suit a gang of boys (and a sprinkling of girls) with bears in our garden?

Thanks.

Some games involving big firece bears in the woods - e.g What's the time, Mr bear' along the same lines as 'What's the time mr Wolf' (post if you don't know how to play it)

Bears in the Woods Hide and Seek - ordinary hide and seek but set it up in bears terms, bears hiding.

Or there's a game called bears and Lumberjacks: All children play at lumberjacks in the forest: chopping action. You shout very loudly "The bears are coming" and all the lumberjacks have to lie down very still on the ground. You walk amongst them doing ridiculous bear acting - sniffing them etc, and anyone who giggles or moves has to become one of the 'bears' and join in the bear acting next time round. Re-start with " All lumberjacks back to work".

Do pass the parcel using teddy bears Picnic as the music, and have bear related prize.

Do all the food in tiny miniture: tiny sandwiches, buns in sweet cases etc as the bears picnic.

Have you got the "Going on a Bear Hunt" book? If so, have a big story time outdoors with that and get all the kids up on their feet joining in and doing the actions.

Post if you haven't as I am sure we can allc obble together the words/actions.

It really is good fun!

How about a teddy bear hunt. Each bear could be hidden with a treat of some description or a little prize each. Or each bear has the kids name on it and a prize so each child is sure to get 1 prize each.
