I used to be but have lost it. Kids moved to new school 4 months ago now.At the school I smile at people, try to make conversation and am getting nowhere. I have helped out for the pta and been to coffee mornings. They talk to me why I am there an then don't in the playground.
Come on people magnets help me out please.

What do you want as an outcome here - people to chat to / go for coffee with / to the pub with??
I'd say you're doing the right thing by just talking to people - walk up to them and start a conversation, rather than just smiling and saying hello as you walk by.
Target the parents of your kids friends, as then it's easier to find something to talk about.

perhaps the people you are "targetting" (sorry fo rlack of a more appropriate word..) have the problem? maybe try some others??

friends to chat to or go to the pub ect. The school my children went to before was so friendly .
