One of the great things about Coronation Street is that it's always been a northern soap with authentic local characters.But now the appauling Danny Baldwin and his wife with their dreadful southern accents have moved into weatherfield.They should be sent packing-back down south where they belong.

I find this letter offensive being from down south with my appauling accent an orll.can't belive this has been printed.Do people relly feel like this.What do you mumsneters think

It is not the fact that they are southerners, just the fact that they are crap actors that annoys me!

what about Mike Baldwin, Keiran, err will think of a few more non-northerners that have been in Corrie.......

As a Mancunian I can say that I don't know ANYONE who is like an "authentic local character" of the type found in Coronation Street. Can't bear the programme, don't watch it, and don't care who they put in it, or what kind of accent they have. Don't waste your time being offended, happycat!
