OMG hit another car today, my car is fine but his car has a huge dent :(

I was reversing off my drive when next doors 4 year old started darting behind my car and then moving out the way, he was out alone (he doesn't live there, his dad has assess) I have a large MPV and can't see whats happening below my back window and was very scared that he was going to run under my car, so I kept an eye on him and went very slowly, but I forgot to look behind me and hit some blokes van, DH went next door and explained, the bloke came out and was fine about it, we swopped insurance details, as its a Motability car, my insurance payments won't go up as I pay a set amount for the hire of the car, AA and insurance, but I felt awful and I am scared the Motability will refuse us a car next time. Can't believe that my car made such a huge dent, and my car was fine. Oh well, suppose it was bound to happpen soon.

where was thid kids dad?as the kid provided a big distraction when you were reversing

there,s big promblem these days with aprking not enough space to accomdate where ev1 lives

HIs van was parked opposite on the pavement (DH is sure its illegal to park on the pavement)
The kids dad was in the house and the 4 yr old was playing about by our cars when I came out so I was aware he was there but then he started darting about.
