My ds1 is a brave little soldier - had a bike accident today

I just wanted to say how proud I am of my ds1. he had an accident on his bike today and fell on his face, cutting his chin open and badly scraping his lips and hands. He ended up in A&E having his chin glued (thank god not stitched) and then we had to go to the dentist as the fall loosened a couple of his front teeth. They are his baby teeth so luckily they will grow again eventually.
The dentist wouldn't do anything today as his mouth was too sore but we have to go back again tomorrow.
He was brilliant at the hospital after the initial shock had worn off and everyone said how brave he was. He has been hungry but can only manage lollies and frozen tube yogurts as his lips are very sore. My husband just went to M&S to get supper as I don't feel like cooking tonight and came home with smoked salmon in cream cheese spready stuff for him. Ds1 1 just loves smoked salmon and he managed to eat half a tub by licking off the back of a spoon and is saving the other half for breakfast !

He's asleep now - looking like he has had about 6 collagen injections in his top lip

Ow! Bless him, hope he feels a lot better soon. I cut my chin open a couple of years ago and it didn't hurt too much after it had been stitched ? was more the shock, I think. (Really really stupid accident, rushing to get to work, running downstairs trying to take my watch off and put it on the right way round... doh!).

Oh, kayleigh, huge sympathy - DS1 has had a combination of accidents like this, in one he went over his handlebars (not sure how) and left half his face on the road, and in the other he ran into a swing frame, knocked one front tooth clean out and broke a chunk off the other.

That was years and years ago and he looks OK now! Hope yours manages to sleep tonight and isn't too sore tomorrow. He will be fine. (You, on the other hand, will probably have nightmares reliving the moment it happened for months!)

Kayleigh, big hugs to you and your DS. Not quite the same but DS (who's only 6mths) headbutted me today. I have a fat lip and DS has a huge bruise on his forehead - the first of many bumps I'm sure.
Tell your DS that all us MN's think his a big brave boy!

What a brave wee man xxxxxx

My ds (also 5) had a nasty fall off his bike yesterday. He has a big scrape and bruise on his cheek. Thank goodness he always wears his (now battered) helmet, otherwise it could have been an awful lot worse.

I recall my lil brother at age 4 mimicking elder bro 9 and trying tirde his little Raleigh Jungle down a flight of stairs
2 teeth and 8 stitches later...
