A couple of questions about jewellery

I have somehow got nail polish on my Opal ring - never use the stuff on my fingers, and don't wear the ring all the time so no idea how it got there. What's the best way to clean it - or should I leave it up to a jeweller?

Secondly, if I get a ring cut off, is the ring damaged and unwearable afterwards?

Tke the Opal to a jeweller, its a very soft stone, If you tried to clean it you'd probably ruin it.If you get a ring cut off the jeweller can fix it. HTH

Thanks jaba. The ring that needs cut off is my Great granny's wedding ring , it's not tight, but i can't now get it past my knuckle, and didn't want to damage it, and the Opal ring was a present from my Grandad for my 18th, it's my birthstone and he died the day after. Didn't wnat either one damaged
