MIL has given ds a lovely christening gown to wear on the day. It is made froms silk and is over 50 years old. The trouble is the gown is a bit yellow and has a couple of minor stains. What is the best way to clean it? Can it be dry cleaned?

I think I would take it to a reputable cleaners and ask their advice. Otherwise, it might be worth trying to track down an antique clothing restorer and ask their advice.

Just a word of warning, if you do dry clean it make sure it's very well aired before you use it as there might be toxic fumes from the dry cleaning trapped in the fabric.
