I know, I saw one canvassing in the street when I went into town a few weeks ago.

I feel quite sick too, trouble is, redaing the leaflet, I can sort of see why soem people would think they would vote them them. It's a pile of shite political propaganda with no real substance behind what they are saying.

We actually had a party political broadcast from them here last night. I turned the sound off but I could see the words "no immigration" on the screen behind him and black silhouettes walking across the screen. How they can be allowed to peddle stuff like that is beyond me, let alone be given a prime-time slot for it. I know about freedom of speech, but really

I raced after one down the street and made him take back the one he'd just put through my door AND told him never to pollute my letterbox again....

first time they stood, got something like 80 votes, then the second time, was over 400 IIRC

On the bottom of my leaflet in the FAQ bit it says are you racist?

The answer is no. The BNP opposes immigration, for 40 years this has been primarily coloured people. But it is not an issue of colour since we are equally opposed to immigration from places like Albania and Romania.

So because Albanians and Romanians are white they can't be racist

16 out of 19 possible candiates though in our town And it was supposed to be all 19 seats but 3 had to drop out (hope it's terminal...)

As Northerner says, the leaflets are horribly 'reasonable' if you read them and might not be aware of the BNP's agenda.

They are talking about the eastern European ''invasion'' of our town. There are a lot of eastern Eurpeans coming here, but I fail to see why this is a problem in a town where there is very little unemployment and some service industires - hotel trade for example - are actually having huge problems recruiting staff locally...

We have had a number of similar leaflets of late.A new super mosque is being built near by and a luxury housing estate behind our house.The BNP were saying that as it was all 5 and 6 bedroom houses it was obviously going to be all asian families .One leaflet actualy had the title Sharoe Green set for Islamification .They also stated that homes in asian areas are only worth 60% of those in non asian areas surely not?
I'm just waiting for them to knock on the door will send dp to answer it although a catholic he is half asian.Our next door neighbours are seikhs too.Can see how people may be perseuded to vote though with statistics like that ,if you believe them that is

how do they cope when someone's great-grand parents were born here?

Naively I thought electors would dismiss them like the Monster Raving Looney party but in our local paper they are trying to come across as working for the good of the country - "...BNP are not racist....we don't hate anybody.....it's about love of one's own kind, preserving our way of life, our culture, the general Christian ethos".
I'm scared now that a sizeable number of voters might fall for this load of bollocks.

we have 2 BNP councillors in our ward who got elected last year - there were very few votes in it IYSWIM so the threat is very real ... this is why it is important to make your vote count at a local and national level.
