OK so all of us have propblems with the way we look. I certainly do too, but so what? My mum was a really pretty girl, but just after I was born became ill and ended up with half her face paralysed. She had to cope with 2 young boys, a baby daughter, a husband working full time and a very serious condition plus her facial appearance completely changed, and her mum who when she went to see her in hospital brought her a couple of scarves 'to hide her face'!!!
My mum is perfectly fine now, and recently got some plastic surgery to help a bit as had problems with one eye and mouth. But basically she's had over 30 years of people staring at her, and has not let it bother her because she knows that she nearly died and could have lost sverything she loved. She chose to make the most of herself, always looking smart, nice hair, nice make-up, and sod what others think!!! (although she wouldn;t say it like that as is proper lady in my view!!!)
So please girls, I know none of us is perfect but let's not obsess about it, just make the most of what you have and get on with the rest of your life!!!

I guess I've been lucky because I've always quite liked the way I looked and even my curly hair! But now I've hit 40 I do look in the mirror and feel more critical!

But part of me thinks because of the way I look I've attracted and been attracted to a certain sort of man - the ones who go for looks and don't want to know the real me. I've certainly not been lucky in love so in a way I think if my looks are fading maybe I'd meet someone who wants to know me properly. Then again I've sworn off men entirely so it's not an issue!!

I've always had a tendency to put on weight though and am creeping back up to my highest ever weight. So I've never been over-confident on the body front. As someone else said though I was even worrying about that when I was 16 and I look at photos now and think I was gorgeous and what a waste of time it was even thinking about it and restricting the clothes I wore. I didn't wear jeans for years because I was a 12/14!! I wear them all the time now and am a generous 16!! No shame!!
