Accosted in a car park. Is this a con?

Was accosted by a man in a car park this pm saying he was doing market reseach for a large multi national - showed me letterheads tc. If I test their new product for 16 weeks I'll get paid £100. To good to be true? It's something I use anyway. Not signed anything and he is ringing to make an appointment to discuss with me.

Is all this normal practice?

Fairly standard I think to pay a pound in exchange for your signing a non-disclosure. I think that the payment makes it a "contract" in legal terms and therefore enforceable.

I'm not sure about squirting stuff on you when you don't know more sounds a strange way to do business to me and only a pound not to disclose information to a competitor sorry but sounds strange!
