Have you or do you know anyone with a Jaguar Car and 3 children in car seats?

I'm thinking that its not going to be practical for us to keep as it means we'll have one newborn in a first car seat, a 14 month old in a second stage and a toddler in a booster seat and she will have to go in the middle which I'm not happy about.

So in other words, the whole back seat will be taken up.

Has anyone else done this? Is it doable?

I doubt it. We have had ds in stage one and now stage 2, dd2 in a booster. There is definitely not room for dd1 to have a booster (she is 7, very tall and doesn't need one).

Ahhh crap.
Dh will be gutted.

Its an X-Type and I think it can be disabled but I do recall having a conversation with dh about it before and he says it cannot.

nbg..if it's like ours, their is a weight requirement for them to work in the front...if someone is too light (or too heavy for that matter) it automatically turns the airbag off

My BIL had a Jag.

When he took dd out with their 2 dd's, dd in a stage 2 britax avis (bearly fitted into the car), their dd2 in a booster seat and the oldest was squashed between the other 2. It realy wasn't very comfortable for her.

Nbg · 05/04/2007 08:14

I've just told him the replies and I've been told the Jag is staying, lol.

He said the airbag can be turned off so dd can go in the front and I can sit in the back.

Nice!

3 in the back, regardless of number of baby seats is a big squish !! dad has a Jag and when we go out, with mum and dad , we always take two cars, as DD in her seat, DS in his booster and me in the back just isn;t happening !! it is not as big as it looks !

also, DH used to have a 4 seater car when we had ds,and the carseat had to go in the front, i got mightily ticked off sitting in the back all the time, like another child !!

skirmish · 05/04/2007 08:23

do it...can you imagine having to get on public transport with 3 kids?!!!

lulumama · 05/04/2007 08:28

DH would not get me pregnant till i passed my test...got pregnant one month after passing ! big incentive, you see !

Nbg · 05/04/2007 09:18

I've done some lessons in the Jag and its just stupidly fast.
I nearly rammed it into a wall through too much gas coming out of a hill start

Well dh has checked out the car seat site lol and it actually states that if you already have 2 child restraints in the back of the car and another cannot fit, a child over 3 doesnt need to have one

I know that it is legal, but I wouldn't be happy doing it on a regular basis with a 3/4 year old.
