Is anyone from Brighton to Newhaven area??

I'd really appreciate some advice/info on these areas, as we are looking to buy our first family home, and I've been told that Newhaven is quite cheap. I was hoping someone might be able to tell me what the areas are like, or if there's any other towns nearby that are nice.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

it me the worthing person - i think its fab here, i also think brighton is fab, hastings is fab, peavehaven is fab ... so mebbe not the best person to give adive - the thing is they are all near the beach ! there - see am sold - let me tell you a great story .. hubby was working one saturday and i decided as it was a glorious day ( as it often is) i would go down the beach with the kids - so the kids went of to drown each other in the sea and i sat there for 3 yes t.h.r.e.e hours and read a book! a full one - not five minutes here and there whilst am on the bog ( too much info i know) ... there the beach its fab!
seriously tho - as you have access to the net its a great research tool , there is the local newspaper call the argus ( as you lived in brighton you will know) well it directs you to either brighton and hove online or worthing online - or visit the council sites and get school names and research the schools or leave messages, there are loads of sites - but alas it takes time ... which we havent got as parents - did i mention 3 hours reading a book!!

MES - did you find anywhere in Newhaven or did you decide to go elsewhere, just wondered as I'm not far from there.
