Passport renewal online: how long do you have to send in documents?

After a certain period of time if you haven't sent in your documents they will refund your money and you have to start from scratch. Anyone know how long they give you?

I've been fannying around getting photos taken etc and don't want to send it all in only to find I've missed my deadline.

We applied from overseas. Iirc, we had 28 days. If we didn t get the documents to them, the application was cancelled and we wouldn't get any money back
Check the application. I'm Sure it tells you. How long have you been looking at getting photos for?? If you have a white wall and decent camera use passpics and do it today.

RedSand thanks. I looked at the application, logged in online, checked the emails they sent, read the FAQs etc etc and can't find a date anywhere. My application status (that's all there is when I log in) is 'awaiting information from the applicant' but no date.

I'm sure it has been longer than 28 days so if I'm still in the system I guess I will chance it.

I have the photos thanks (we did home photos for dh's passport and it delayed the whole thing so I had these done in a shop). I need to photocopy my other passport but my copier can't seem to deal with all the watermarks so I'll have to bring that to a shop too. As much as there are logistical issues it is mainly heel-dragging combined with a failure to keep it at the top of my list of things to do. Smile
