What is the safest colour for a car??

My current car is dark grey and has been hit 5 times whilst stationery/parked. My previous car was bright blue and no-one ever hit it. Need to choose a colour for the new car and was wondering if there is a pattern or have I just been unlucky with the current one?

Something that Linnet said has just jogged my memory - I made a mental note recently (obviously not that well cos I'd already forgot) never to get a car which has the lights high up at the back. You know how lights are usually at knee level but some new models now have them at the top, kinda shoulder level?

I've been driving for 23 years and have had no crashes, bumps near misses etc (the petrol tanker smashing into the back of me doesn't count because I was stationary at the time but recently I've found myself having to slam on at the last minute a few times. Each time the car in front has the brake lights higher. All I can think is that most of our driving is done instinctively - you don't actually go through the process of acknowledgement 'oh there's the indicitair/brake light I shall now put my foot on the brake pedal' we just do it. Therefore I reckon this new position of brake light just isn't registering with us.
Nothing to do with colour but i reckon if you want to avoid cars climbing into your boot then avoid this design.

my driving instructor told me not to get a car with the lights high up because there was less visibility too.

safest colour is white.

yay! nappyaddict - it's not just me then

I was worrying that I may be getting too old to drive.....like my 96 yr old neighbour who crashes into a car everytime he reverses out of the driveway

Kelly1978, odd that black cars should be the worst. I'd rather assumed the figures for black cars would be skewed by hearses, which generally drive quite slowly and carefully. I suppose visibility's the main issue.
