Anyone know about best way to send parcels to Europe?

I need to send a big parcel of 2nd-hand baby clothes to Germany. Anyone know how best/cheapest to do this. Will I get charged taxes? (They are worth about 100 pounds).

You can do it at the post office - check their website for prices.
You won't get charged tax because it's within the EU but you will have to fill in a customs declaration sticker saying it's a gift (ie not for resale). Might be worth taking insurance or sending it registered/recorded so you get compensation if you lose it.

Basically, under 2kg and within the stated dimensions, the price isn't too bad, but over that and it gets very expensive.

My local P.O. is very helpful - why not ring yours and give them the size and weight, and they'd advise.

My mums sends me stuff all the time. Writing "gift" is important - if they ask. Sometimes mum sends 2 smaller parcels as the price curve is steep as the weight increases and you need to keep the packets in the "Small packet" category.

I couldn't find a cheaper price on UPS, but their website is v complicated. The PO one seems to show the prices quite clearly.
