Someone please help me or tell me if I am going mad. I bought a these carrots on Saturday ready for dinner tonight. Upon opening the bag it appears they are covered in this slimy substance which also smells very chemically 
I'm heavily pregnant and had put a couple in with the mince for a few seconds before fishing them out. I hope this won't make me ill? I plan on taking them back tomorrow as never known this to happen before.
