The car was due a service (booked in for yesterday)

A warning message came up on Wednesday last week - I phoned the garage & they said it was it due to it needing servicing

It went in yesterday - it's very broken & will take a fortnight to fix

HOWEVER Tescos have arranged a hirecar - will pay for it and all I have to do is fill in a form

I know it was their fault - but they have dealt with it very well and all in a phone call at 9pm at night....I'm kinda impressed

what did your car do?

Katymac · 23/03/2007 21:24

Nothing special - it was just running a bit rough - I thought it was due to the service being due

Ah, that would explain why our local Tesco garage has a big sign outside saying it was involved in the latest hoo ha about fuel, wondered what that was all about.

Hope you get it all sorted out, sounds like they are being decent about things.

That's what I thought

Dh has just told me that Tesco has said they will pay for repairs for anyone who was affected. If you take in the receipt they will refund the money. I don't know where he's heard that so you may have to confirm but it's worth checking out.

yep - it was the speed ease of use and co-operation of the system in place I was commenting on

No argument they will pay for repairs & hire car

Slight fly in th e ointment is that they can only get me a Micra for the weekend & I have to wait until Monday lunchtime to get the auto people carrier - but it's OK I can deal with that
