Isn't it strange how we teach our dc's 'old fashioned' things

I was watching dd2 playing and she was pretending her little play figures were on a train and going 'Choo, choo', trains haven't made that sound for years!!! Also, when we do the actions to Miss Polly had a dolly, when we do the 'called for the doctor' bit we pretend we are dialling a phone, she had never seen a phone with a dial and must wonder what the hell I am doing?!!

yes - and the fact that the doctor comes "quick quick quick" rather than you being told that you can have an appointment next Thursday if you're lucky
