Just wondering, i go to lots of play groups, but although I have made some friends, I never feel quite like I fit in anywhere. There are different sorts of people at each one, but I never meet anyone I could feel like i could make really good friends with.
I really like gardening and cooking and going for walks in the countryside and there doesn't seem to be anyone interested in stuff like this anymore...
Feel like I'm going mad, I am fed up discussing eastenders etc

Hello dingo. I'm not too keen on playgroups either - I suspect there are plenty of us who feel the same! Just cos your kids are the same age as Mrs Sensible Jeans' kids, doesn't mean you're going to have anything else in common. I generally treat it as a bonus if I meet a few like-minded people - and if I don't, I just get down on the floor and play with the cars.

Don't get me wrong, I do love playgroups, I wouldn't survive without them, I think we go to about 7!!

Hi dingo, I know exactly how you feel!! I have been to quite a few playgroups and have made a few friends but wouldn't have said any were life long ones! Give it time though, I've found that some mums I've met didn't come across very well in the beginning and I've actually got some things in common with them that weren't obvious to start with! I hope that makes sense, feel like I'm rambling and not quite hitting the point I'm trying to make!
