All I want is a new patio, aka has anyone had their drains moved?

Has anyone had any alterations made to their drains, and if so, did it require a second mortgage to pay for it?

Apparently in order for us to have a proper patio laid in our back garden, we need to have a great huge lump of concrete taken up, which will also require the drains that run under it, to be lowered.

We can;t go over the top of the concrete with paving or decking because it is already up to the limit that it needs to be below the dampproof course.

It never was going to be simple

you could have the area by your damp proof course lower with gravel infill with edging

Hmm, I had thought about that, is that what you call a French Drain?

landscaper didn;t suggest it, but I wondered afterwards.

Aesthetically I wouldn't be opposed to it.

Put a deck in and put a couple of inches between the deck and the house

it'll be fine
