Ours feel off when I lived at home with mum and dad and it was off for months try and balance it on the click it in it should work

schneebly · 19/03/2007 13:40

lol I must be tired I thought your arse had fallen off! I was confused!

bobsyouruncle · 19/03/2007 13:40

My tumble dryer door fell off & a mate (whose job is fixing washing machines etc) fixed it. Didn't charge us but it took only a few minutes to fix & works perfectly now so it may be worth geting it fixed rather than getting a new one!

The plastic hinge has sheared off, have managed to prop it closed and it's working now.

oh no ggirl thats a shame

when i lived in a microscopic flat i had nowhere to store tumble dryer or even hang washing, and it ws above a laundrette so i used to run down to laundrette in my jammies and throw it in then collect it later!

nailpolish · 19/03/2007 13:49

didnt mean thats a shame youve got it working now

Skribble · 19/03/2007 22:22

I use a skateboard to keep mine closed .

Sugarmagnolia · 20/03/2007 07:30

That happened to me a few weeks ago. I paid a very nice man £35 to fix it for me. He did tell me however that the new hinge only cost £5 and the rest was his fee so if you're cleverer than me you'll phone up the manufacturer, order a new hinge and replace it yourself. Worth the money in my book though.

carol3 · 20/03/2007 07:35

would just search for the part on line and fit it yourself, I usually manage to fix most things proberly only a couple of scews, just changed the heating element in my dryer [proud emotion] was easier than wiring a plug

brimfull · 20/03/2007 08:46

Now you've made me feel I can't chuck this one and get a new one...you're all so industrious!

NO - YOU CAN NOT GET A NEW TUMBLE DRYER JUST BECAUSE THE DOOR FELL OFF !

(you do, however, have to get a new camera after it was sprayed with sea water despite telling the repair shop it was under warranty and you have no idea what happened to it because it turns out they can tell - "it got wet, in fact it got very, very wet, there is corrosion dammage and it is not covered by ANY warranty!" sorry, totally different story )
