Did you buy your DH a wedding present?

I'm getting married in 4 weeks and would like to get DH to be a present but I'm stuck for ideas. Did you get your other half a wedding present and if so what was it?

I surprised mine with tickets to an event while we were on honeymoon.

JaxingJump · 11/05/2017 07:25

Yes. I got him an antique Rolex. It's a beautiful watch.

Orangesox · 11/05/2017 07:35

We exchanged token gifts: I got him a new aftershave for our wedding day, and he bought me a beautiful frame to put one of our wedding photographs in. We agreed nothing extravagant as we married a week after our birthdays (and we both went a bit wild with the presents then!)

No but we were skint. We only just scraped together the money for the wedding. I bought him an eternity ring the following year.

I bought DH a 'honeymoon' to centreparcs as I was too poorly & pregnant to fly to Dubai as planned.

He bought me all my favourite childhood books to read to our baby and a frame showing the day we got engaged as a storyline

Whathaveilost · 11/05/2017 07:51

No, it didn't occur to me to do so!

2014newme · 11/05/2017 07:51

No I think I just had so much to do and organise already

Crumbs1 · 11/05/2017 07:55

I was his present! He got me for life.

DorotheaHomeAlone · 11/05/2017 07:57

Same as Crumbs. I felt he was already getting a good deal!

imsorryiasked · 11/05/2017 07:58

I got him a nice watch - not overly expensive, and had the back engraved with a message. He still wears it moist days and we've been married 22 years.

Rumtopf · 11/05/2017 08:01

We bought a fire pit.
Not seemingly the most romantic of gifts, but it was something we both really wanted for the garden and it's nice sitting out with a glass of wine watching the stars.

gigi556 · 11/05/2017 08:01

Not married but I think it's a nice idea. I'd go for a watch or maybe (if you're up for it) a boudoir photo shoot?

TisapityshesaGeordie · 11/05/2017 08:04

I got him a watch. And a steak pie from a local gormet butchers, which I left wrapped up on his bed the night before with the message, "I only have pies for you." Grin

BabyMoonPie · 11/05/2017 08:06

I bought DH a watch engraved with our wedding time and date. The face of the watch is champagne coloured so it matched my dress and his buttonhole

MunchyMunchkin · 11/05/2017 08:09

A Mario themed pocket watch that I had shipped in from Japan. He loves and and wears it to every wedding we go to.

welshweasel · 11/05/2017 08:11

I bought him cufflinks to wear on the day. They were cheap but had meaning behind them.

Trollspoopglitter · 11/05/2017 08:11

His wedding band. Though when I suggested we buy each other's bands, I didn't realise his was going to be more than twice the cost of mine. Should've stuck some stones in mine :-)

Iamastonished · 11/05/2017 08:16

No, it never occurred to either of us to buy each other a present. I think there is enough to do without having to find your partner a present. We have Christmas and birthdays for that.

StripyLass · 11/05/2017 08:51

I got mine a bag of gifts including a hip flask and mini lego. He didn't get me anything and I was really upset! I can laugh about it now though. He's particularly rubbish though, only wrote his speech in the taxi between the ceremony and the meal for example......
