who create lots of washing. DH is going to be hand washing until we have the money together to buy the new washing machine (hopefully by the end of this month ).

It was being budgetted for to be bought in April/May time - but having died rather dramatically on us (by not draining water and flood my kitchen when I opened the door without realising the water was still in there ) we've had to bring the buying schedule forward dramatically.

I've got a few bits on ebay at the moment and will be adding LOTS more tomorrow, alsorts ranging from toys, childrens books, music books, sheet music, VCR, childrens shoes etc etc..........so if you'd care to pop by over the next few days and fancing bidding on any of my stuff to help save my poor DH's back it would always be appreciated .

In short - we need a new washing machine and I'm listing lots of stuff to help with the funds for it

it may not be quite the answer but could u take the odd load to the laundrette? (they have huge machines so can wash loads in one go?)

or maybe you could offer to look after a friends child / bake a cake / babysit etc in exchange for a load of washing in their machine.

The thought of loads of washing with no machine with 2 kids is quite scarey actually!

Good luck!

U could always advertise a wanted message on freecycle to get a free local one!

Am quite surprised the door opened while machine was full of water as thats a major safety feature on every machine in past 30yrs..might be worth contacting the company

Same boat here.. I started off by going to the launderette... being nice to my mum etc but really felt like I was taking the piss and I begrudged what the launderette cost so I found a second hand spin dryer on ebay and use that.. it's fantastic and it spins at 2800rpm so the stuff comes out almost dry

I soak all our washing for a couple hours before attempting to scrub it just to make it a bit easier and I'm managing pretty much fine.. just have to wait now for the manufacturers response to my request that they replace or repair cos my machine is only 14 months old

check the filter. minme did thisd, the filter needed cleaning.

fannyannie · 14/03/2007 10:43

ahh - you see mine is 6yrs old, and a very over used and abused Washer Dryer, I knew it was on its last legs - just didn't know how much longer it had left to live....turns out not quite long enough for us to comfortably buy our new one. Filter is fine, outlet pipe is fine (or appears to be) it's just dead........

I suppose we could try and get a free one on freecycle, but then we'd still have to dipose of this old one (and Currys will take it away for us when they deliver the new one LOL), and I'd want a replacement (new) one soon anyhow....

Shouldn't be too bad - DH is currently bent over the bath scrubbing clothes (he's actually pretty quick at it - faster than the "quick" wash on my dead machine ) and should be able to order the new one next Thursday....

fannyannie - are you ordering it online - we found that cheaper than instore Currys when we got a new one a couple of weeks ago. Also go on hotukdeals - we got a 5% discount on ours from there.
