Sorry if this has been done before - but I've jut heard about it and am strangley fascinated.
For those of you who don't know - like me...it's a computer simulation type thing that anyone can join and you can make up your own character and live a second life...(here the parallels with MN stop!)..you can get jobs, build houses, and be anywhere and with anyone you want. It's weird and seems to be the braincaild and controlled by one chap. Oh yes and you can make money too!

Tell me more if you can!

people are settign up businesses on it and having happy hours in virtual bars ( more an dmore like MN!!) It seems a bit Big BRother to me - or am I way too paranoid?
Aparently you can do anything on this game - learn to ski, set up your own island...meet potential partners...it IS weird isn't it?

Sounds like the sort of thing spotty "batchelors" would do, quite scarey.

I find this kind of 'escapism' quite frightening. It's as if the actual world we live in is inferior to the one we can create on line (and the scary part is, humans are investing more time, energy and money in their virtual existence than on the real world and it's issues and problems). I find it worrying and very, very sad sometimes that this is the world I have brought a child into.
