What do you all think of my dh's idea?

My dh is thinking of setting up a business in where it will be for scramblers (sp?) bikes, mini-mopeds etc.
It will be an outdoor area, away from houses etc and will be where scrambers can do what they want to do scramble, in an area where they can leagally do it (dh is fed up of seeing scramblers just going around the streets etc in his job).

DH understands the cost of it, it would be expensive and may very well be equivailent to another mortgage amount for a loan etc.

I feel it is a good idea in principle, but obviously concerned!

Thanks

I think, like you, a good idea on principle. Whether it would be viable or not....

I could be wrong, but isn't half the fun the fact that they're not supposed to be doing it?

lol,
There are plenty of areas by us where they go up to, but there was a bad accident on one of the mountains by us, and since then the police have had a big clamp down on it!!

It would be one way in and one way out etc.
Can we get around the insurance the same way many other places do, ie; contract with person basically saying if they are injured on my land, it is their own fault etc?

i think you'd have to fence it in to make sure there were no trespassers, you'd have to have someone supervising all the time to make sure no hooligans were ruining it for everyone, and you'd have to get liability insurance. i know that track day organisers are having a hard time because the insurance is so high now it's not cost effective.

but i can see it being very popular, as long as you had a reputation for safety.
