I know - I'm hopeless! Bank changed my PIN 2.5 yrs ago, and I still put the old one in, and can't remember the new one.

Last year left ds1 at a playscheme, and left a contact phone number. The only problem was the phone number was from our old house ... 300 miles away, which we'd left a year previously.

My dad insists on shouting "HELLO ARE YOU THERE PICK THE PHONE UP" at the beginning of every voicemail. I tell him EVERY TIME that it's voicemail/callminder and that I can't hear him. He still does it!!

my gran is ace at leaving messages. She speaks and waits for you to answer then sort of guess's your answer and 'sort of ' has a conversation with you. they usually last about 15 mins

nightowl · 05/07/2004 02:19

my nan doesnt understand that answering machines will pick up everything you say on the other end of the line even when you're not talking directly to them. she also doesnt understand that if im on the line, the machine will come straight on. ive had lots of messages like "ers switched er phone off again" or "its that bloody machine" or "ers obviously still in bed the lazy bugger".

colinsmommy · 05/07/2004 02:21

I don't use it for my MIL, I use it for my own mother.

littlemissbossy · 05/07/2004 02:27

I use it, not for the mil, but for my nosey, newly retired, bored at home neighbour ... she drives me up the wall...

expatkat · 05/07/2004 03:44

LOL, Highlander. Reminds me of when my mil got married in 2001. I was recovering from gladular fever. The day before her wedding she rang and said, "How are you feeling?" I said, "I feel pretty well, thank you." And she said, "Oh, good. So you'll look good for the wedding pictures."

Don't have caller IDdon't get enough phone calls, reallybut it's sounding tempting!

I think CID is brilliant to add to that, I have just bought a new phone that enables you to select a different ring tone for different numbers - my dh is self-employed so normal numbers are a normal ring tone, family numbers are a different one and so are friends numbers. So I can tell without looking at the phone, what group of people might be calling. Oh and the school has a separate ring tone. Eh Technology great eh !
