What can I do with all these soft toys???

I have tons of soft toys my dc have outgrown. I would like to keep them, as most of them have memories attached, but i simply do not have the room. (They already have more than enough in their bedrooms as it is...)

Local charity shops will not take them (becuase they do not sell on apparetnly) and hospitals/nurseries/play groups etc dont want them 'becuase of the risk of infection'. I am reluctant just to throw them away .

Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do with them? TIA

Put them on freecycle?

use them to make a sofa?

Places like playgroups won't take them because they'll be used by lots of children, but if you put them all through the washing machine you may find that places like women's refuges, Operation Christmas Child etc who send them as gifts to one child might take them.

Take a look at www.freecycle.org. Register with your local group and post an offer of the toys.

Its a way of giving away stuff you don't want (for free) to someone who wants it thus avoiding landfill sites.

You can offer anything from furniture, clothes, toys, garden stuff, as well as endless "junk" as it seems that someone always wants what you're trying to get rid of. Equally you can email people who are offering stuff you want.
