burn the garage down ?

i started a thread about mice the other day, and there are a few more since. i think there is an epidemic this year.

i've got a humane trap and mouse killer which poisons them. if they're in your cupboards can you see anywhere they're getting in?

AAARRRHHHHH apparently it's not even his fault!!

He just phoned and I told him I'm phoning the pest people and he told me not too, that he;d sort it all out tomoprrow.

Well, that menas he's going to have to completely empty his garage and it's it full it bursting ATM.

Check around the pipes that deliver water into the kitchen, for gaps-that is a favourite entry spot for them.Especially if they are in your cupboards.

I could hear mice in our cavity walls & loft, but dh said I was paranoid & imagining things. It was me who had to put down poison & traps & me who found & removed the dead one from the airing cupboard.I made him come & look at it,to prove that I wasn't imagining things.

Poison the little b*stards. I had the mouse man in earlier this week.

Clearing the garage out WILL NOT HELP. Does your house have airbricks? Dos it have floor boards? Holes for the radiator pipes...?

KTeePee · 01/03/2007 20:52

Get a cat..... ours has just died and I'm not sure if we should get another one but they are a sure-fire way to guarantee a rodent-free house....

DoesntTurkeySoupDragon · 01/03/2007 20:53

you need a cat or three - but don't get one that brings in live animals - that makes it worse

SidtheKidsMum · 01/03/2007 21:06

Borrow someone's cat. I promise you that the job will be over and done with within a week. Poisoning them is not great if you have kiddies around and the traps are grim.

In the meantime, make your DH sleep in the garage.

I had mice in my old house. It was a pipe from inside going outside. They got everywhere in the attic, underfloors, in my oven!!! My ex husband didn't do bug all i had to bait the place myself"!!! Not sure if they ever went as i left ex. Wilkinson does cheap mouse bait.

SoupDragon · 02/03/2007 14:03

Poisoning is fine with children - the (reputable!) pest firm I use puts them in locked boxes in inaccessible places - he refused to bait the main living areas for safety reasons, just did kitchen/utility/garage. The bait has a dye in it so you know if a child has managed to get it and you're given the health and safety numbers for the specific bait used so that A&E can identify and give the correct antidote. I'm more than happy that DSs and BabyDragon can't get the bait we have in the kitchen ATM. I wouldn't put down self-bought poison myself though.
