Just that really. We have a 17yrar old girl who we don't really know coming to stay with us for 10 days in August to learn English. Her English is pretty poor. I don't want her stuck to me 24/7 so I wondered if any of you have experience if a foreign student staying and what the hell to do with them?

Should I suggest to their parents that she should go on an intensive learn English course (get her out of my hair) during the week?

Do I look for local youth groups she can join to speak English and have fun?

I have 2 small dc so I need to get on with my everyday life with them, I don't bloody want to have to entertain this girl the entire time.

Any advice greatly appreciated

I'd contact your local high school and ask through the French teaching staff if anyone would like to befriend her, then all you'd be providing is parental supervision.
And at 17, that's probably all she wants!
