Forget about the cotton theme - buy him something he actually want or needs....

A new shirt, pj's, t-shirt, lots of clothes are cotton. We did paper last year and I got a voucher to see a West End show which we still haven't got round to doing so have ditched gifts for this year and are just going somewhere posh for a meal

Cod, I did do paper bolleux for my first wedding anniversary, am super cheesey. Dh was grumpy about it and as always needed a massive list of possible paper items he could buy me. Can't be arsed this year or indeed ever again

We got married on Trafalgar Day (and toasted Nelson as well as the bridesmaids) so I got dh a book about Nelson for our paper anniversary.

He had high hopes for our leather anniversary.
