comments like

"do u ever put your hob racks in the dishwasher , cos theyre a bit greasy like"

ermmm yes ok, after Ive cleaned up 6 days of vomit and lost 48-72 hrs of sleep in this house since you last came.

"why dont you put your oven bits in the dishwasher too , they could do with a brighten"

errrrrrrr why dont you clean them then

"ermmm I dont like them toilet ducks , havent you got a brush"

errrr no theyre revolting.

HMMMM wondered why my loos never looked great after.
Never mind they know Ive had difficult back problems during and since being pregnant, never mind this is my home and my life, never mind I should in no way have to justify how I live and what I do. Every time they come , everything's tidy ,all put away and yes lately Ive been at home alot when they come , but we worked on a system so we didnt clash in the same rooms.
and its doesnt stop there they also have great advice for my 6mth old dd2 too :

"ehhh look she wants to walk , why dont you put her in a walker"

" she might like some sweet tea in her bottle , my girls loved that"

OH and for me too, Ive got a childcare student helping me out , which my loon of a HV helped me out with getting. The only sensible thing she did btw !!!and the cleaners just dont get it, the poor girls been given the national inquisition too

too me , as Im having help "are you going back to work then?"

to her " ahhh your still here" , you not being paid? "

There's soo much more over the last few months and its all coming to me now, but I didnt even realise what an imposition they were in my own home , until the lovely girl whos helping me, noticed their stance.

Thank you for having taken the time to read , I know Im very lucky to be able to have help like this and I know many others are not as fortunate, but every week I almost dread them coming , even though its such a relief to see the house done by lunchtime.

oh god get rid of them.

I got rid of one after ds1 was screaming inconsolably all day with teething pain. He was exhausted and so was I so I put him in his cot to make a drink for myself. I came back upstairs to find her cradling him with an agonised look on her face and accusatory looks at me.

pmsl melsy . But then, I know where they're coming from - I'm pretty sure if I had a cleaner I would be cleaning for them coming

charlieq · 28/02/2007 21:16

weepootleflump I've got friends who do that!! they go home early from outings etc 'to clean up for the cleaner'... you are all mad

Bubble99 · 28/02/2007 21:17

I would imagine that as long as the house is tidy it is reasonable to ask someone employed as a cleaner to clean. Providing the amount of hours you employ the cleaner for is long enough to get the jobs you want done in, I can't see a problem with asking them to tackle the oven etc.

Time to find a new cleaner?

gothicmama · 28/02/2007 21:18

culture clash springs to mind - if they are causing you upset is it really worth having them in hope you ok mate long time no speak

melsy · 28/02/2007 21:20

Thats it charlieq , I can almost see their "what is she doing" faces behind the wall whilst they are in the next room ! And I have no idea why either , I just feel it.

Thing is , I dont go out often the morning they come , as dd goes to nursury in the afternoon and I use the morning to just be at home and not be running around. I have to pace my activities and driving due to my back.

bless em they sighed with relief when I got the formula out and not meeself !

Shame the main women who runs the small agency , used to send round her sil , who was lovely and I always looked forward to natters with her, but alas shes had to give thing up for now. Now its the main women who comes round , with one of her women.

They both work around my house being nasty about other clients and thier ways too, so U can imagine how Ive felt. They openly got peed off wth one of my cuboards and wanetd to chuck everything out to get the hoover in. Id normally be laughing with them ,but after all this for months.

can u tell I have pmt !!!

get rid! there must be other cleaners out there...

say you've decided to take their advice and you now clean every inch of your house. you don't need them anymore!

wanderingstar · 01/03/2007 17:08

Melsy they need to go. To avoid annoying the main woman as you call her - just in case you use them again once the sil is back if ever - couldn't you say that as you're at home and your back's a bit better blah blah you're doing the cleaning yourself fo now.

I'd be seriously peed off, and would feel very intruded on, if my cleaner behaved like yours do.

wanderingstar · 01/03/2007 17:09

Couldn't resist adding that they sound like they'd make a great comedy dialogue...

....once you've got rid of course...

LucyLemon · 01/03/2007 19:29

Melsy - why don't you just get rid of them?
Is there a reason you can't? Are they provided due to disability or do you employ them yourself?
Hope you don't think I'm being rude
It's just their attitude towards you and their job that makes me wonder.
