Your worst moment on mumsnet?

OK - this is meant to be lighthearted & not meant to stir up any old battles. Just noticed a few posts recently from newbies suggesting that they haven't found mn particularly easy to break into at first and, being newish myself, just wondered if any of you old timers would put us newer members at ease by sharing any memorable snubbings, false troll accusations, clangers you've made, threads that really DIDN't work out the way you meant them to, etc...

Ideally you'd be able to laugh at them now rather than still being bitter

OP posts:
Pritch · 28/02/2007 22:08

nope, where is it?

Fooey · 28/02/2007 22:08

On yahoo asking if you can loan me the prog after you have seen it

twinsetandpearls · 28/02/2007 22:09

I still do it cod as I only teach 3 days but now dd is at work so it is no longer an issue.

They probably never said crap mum, but the restwas there thatthreadreduced me to tears of anger, I even phoned my boss and tried to hand in my notice as you evil lot had convinced me that I was so crap at my job. When my boss asked my why I wansted to hand in my notice and I told her that a load of cyber women had told me too she thought I was bonkers! I can feel myself getting angry now as I think about it.

harpsichordcarrier · 28/02/2007 22:10

just realised what you meant by the other place... i can make you a copy if you like. thought i might make one for the towers too.

Fooey · 28/02/2007 22:12

just I have no tv, so can't watch unless someone bungs it on a dvd for me

twinsetandpearls · 28/02/2007 22:12

UnquietDad they were not criticising me becasue I was working but because I was taking dd to work with me in an envoironment where there were other kids and she was going through a brattish faze and being a bit self centred and saying the odd innapropriate thing. There were no vacnacies at dd nursery and I was only being paid a nominal fee to cover my bus fare amd as I was not teaching then and we had a new mortgage money was tight. When I was offered the work it was made clear that I would have dd with me and it also fitted with the ethos if the projectI was running.

dunkeydorey · 28/02/2007 22:12

Yes Titania, seemed to be completely loopy. She had some loyal supporters though and they took it upon themselves to give me a verbal battering. Everyone else was allowed to say what they wanted, but I wasn't entitled to an opinion.

Pritch · 28/02/2007 22:12

no tv?

Tamum · 28/02/2007 22:13

I remember that thread twinset, it was awful.

I don't think I have any really bad moments- JF's post about her dead child (I can't even begin to think where to put the inverted commas there) was definitely a low point, but not mine.

harpsichordcarrier · 28/02/2007 22:13

oh let's see the thread twinset and we will make our minds up

margo1974 · 28/02/2007 22:13

My worst moment - being told off for answering the wrong question re. weaning....

I didn't return for 21 months!

I wasn't told off really, I just think I didn't understand the forum mentality. I have grown a thicker skin now.

I must take this opportunity to thank Hunker for sticking up for me on one thread

And I thought Twiglett told me off on another thread but she hadn't - just me being stupid

zippitippitoes · 28/02/2007 22:15

Tamum how can you have no worst moments and i keep recalling more and more

twinsetandpearls · 28/02/2007 22:15

I will findit but I can'r read it, I found it by accident a while back and it made me cry again!

harpsichordcarrier · 28/02/2007 22:15

oh twinset

Tamum · 28/02/2007 22:16

Perhaps I'm suppressing them zippi (unless you're remembering more and more of &my^ worst moments, in which case you'd better save me from myself and tell me)

twinsetandpearls · 28/02/2007 22:17

here

But I am now having palapations so am going to make a brew.

Don't starton me again.

twinsetandpearls · 28/02/2007 22:18

The thing was as I got angrier I just couldn't get the words out as I wanted them.

But to my credit I did come back and thank you for all having a go at me.

harpsichordcarrier · 28/02/2007 22:20

oh twinset it's sometimes a daytime thing isn't it? the daytime shift can be a tough old place ime
I am glad you came back
(v relieved to see am not on the thread)

BecauseImWorthIt · 28/02/2007 22:22

I lurked for a long time before I posted, so had the time to realise that you had to be very careful what you said and which threads to post on! It made me very cautious.

The downside of being very cautious about posting though is that you're often ignored. I sometimes feel like I'm back at school trying to make new friends!

zippitippitoes · 28/02/2007 22:23

i'm not on it either

I obviously didn't care

twinsetandpearls · 28/02/2007 22:24

I either get ignored or insulted!

mears · 28/02/2007 22:24

I have had very few problems on mumsnet- the odd run in over breastfeeding issues but nothing spectacular.

Did get deleted by HQ after posting a link which was out of order - did it in haste to demonstrate what children were being exposed to on the Bebo website. Was a tad too garphic without a parental warning.

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 28/02/2007 22:27

I'm a newie and am not gettin the ds1, dp, dh etc stuff - what are you all on about?
