i remember these dolls being marketed in the late 80's early 90's. they had some story behind them about how the toymaker gave them all button noses and each one was different. they had soft faces (not vinyl) but were posable. there werent cabbage patch kids before anyone says they were lol. i was never allowed one as they were pricey back then. but i remember them being nice and am trying to remember what they were called and who made them.

Holly Hobbie?

LIZS · 18/06/2004 18:17

The only one I can think of is Strawberry Shortcake which is undergoing a revival but think it had vinyl face, smelly and not so individual.

misdee · 18/06/2004 18:25

not either of those.

Fairyfly · 18/06/2004 18:32

oooh i just remembered my Cheekaboo

misdee · 18/06/2004 18:32

wasnt rainbow bright. they were quite a fair size doll. the bodies werent soft, but jointed and also covered in soft material which apparently was meant to seem 'real' (yeah cos a bit of cloth feels like skin). i think they may have had a emblam on their bottoms as well. a friend of mine at school had 2, but i am no longer in touch with her so cant ask her.

They're hideous aren't they?!!

Hulababy · 18/06/2004 19:07

Oooh, sister didn't have a doll that looked like that I am sure!

misdee · 18/06/2004 19:11

i'm sure they look cuter. but they def had the soft faces and bodies. and it was more towards the end of the 80's. maybe they changed them.

misdee · 18/06/2004 22:35

OP posts:
marthamoo · 18/06/2004 22:37

It's a deal (I don't like clowns either....)

fairydust · 18/06/2004 22:38
