errrmm... I personally believe Ikea stores are the way hell will be so I would do any thing in my power to avoid them, and you know what Croydon will be like at Friday rush hour. Why not take her to your local highstreet tomorrow and let her choose a new dolly.

Hard, but I would say no. The chances are that someone will have handed it in, but of they just handed it to the nearest desk it could be anywhere in the "system" by now. It must be tough, but she might get far more distressed if you go there and can't find the baby, do you think?

Are you certain it is still there, Essbee, or would you be going on the off-chance you'll find it? If your trip is one hour return journey, I'd do it, if you mean an hour there and an hour back, probably not. Hth but I suspect it doesn't!

Sounds like a logistical nightmare. It may well have been moved anyway by now in which case you could be gone ages on a fruitless search. Think I'd stall until the morning unless this a particularly precious comfort sort of baby. Hope she settles

my ds has a much loved bear and if he left that somewhere i would have to go back for it!!

surely if you go back the staff will have to find it wherever in the system it may be-especially when faced with an upset child

Have to say I would have probably ended up doing the round trip too. Infact we have done before. DD left her toy dog at nursery and we were due to go away that weekend. It was the soft toy she was most attached to at that time - yes, she is rather fickle with her toys, BUT for a week or two at a time she becomes very attached to it. It was far easier to go back (about 40 minutes each way) and collect said doggy thn deal with any upset that could happen afterwards.
