We're having a street party on tuesday and I have just remembered that I have been roped in to putting together a "royal quic". I know little or nothing about the Royal family - and while I could no doubt cobble something together over the web I am out and about between now and then and have little time to pull it all together! Anyone got any good questions or facts I can include?

Thank you you have saved my bacon! The only things I know are along the lines of how much tax payers money will it take to do up Clarence House for Prince Charles - which probably isn't getting in to the spirit of things!

Is it a holiday there on Tuesday??? Excuse my colonial ignorance! Saw the Queen's concert and the fireworks etc on telly on the weekend... We had a holiday yesterday actually for Foundation Day (the day our state - Western Aust - was founded). Next week is a holiday for the Queen's Birthday, but for some reason us Aussies celebrate it on two differnet dates depending what state you live in! When is her birthday really?

Bozza · 04/06/2002 10:39

The Queen has two birthdays - her actual one (21 April) and an official one (sometime in June). Yes it is an extra Bank Holiday here but somebody as to cover the office so I am actually working. Boring.....
