Hmmm the current favourite is Cougar! Actually I'm coming around to the idea.

Twinkie · 17/06/2004 11:55

First of all DD wanted to call Max (thats what DP and I have named him (not due till November)) Buzz (as in lightyear!!) - er no!!

Now she has settled on Benjamin for a boy (no as his surname would also start with a B) or Blue Flower if it is a girl!! (Glad it is a boy then!!)

codswallop · 17/06/2004 11:57

"virgil"

and "miles2" as ds1 loved ds2 ( miles) so much ! (aah)

WedgiesMum · 17/06/2004 12:05

Ford New Holland - for a boy

Massey Ferguson - for a girl

(spot the tractor theme)

Metrobaby · 17/06/2004 12:09

Both mine came up with "Hortensia" a couple of years ago - oh good

slug · 17/06/2004 13:30

My brother campaigned hard for Persephone for my youngest sister.

Jimjams · 17/06/2004 13:43

DS2 is convinced the baby (due Dec) is called Max- just because the last baby he saw was called Max.

DS1 is oblivious and will be getting a shock in December. Mind you he calls ds2 "gahun" when his name isn't remotely like that.

We might have to call the baby apple as he can say apple quite well

zebra · 17/06/2004 13:43

I like Persephone.
Pipe, Emma or Tarzan. 4yo DS1 for DS2.

suzywong · 17/06/2004 13:44

Jackie Chan

KeepingMum · 17/06/2004 13:52

ds wanted the new baby to be called 'Toot' which I thought was quite cute. We didn't go with it though

Fairyfly · 17/06/2004 14:06

DS1 is marrying me and we are having two children called Joe and Flower. DS2 has also proposed and we are having Chuck and Poo. I just have to decide which one now.

suedonim · 17/06/2004 14:09

When we had to tell ds1 that Three Piece Suite wasn't really suitable for his new sibling he came up with an alternative. Car Wash.

Ronniebaby · 17/06/2004 20:48

DS said today an we call the new baby Honkie or hounkie, where did that come from.

Suppose its better than spinkie sponkie as he calls every thing/one else.

Piffleoffagus · 17/06/2004 20:50

Daisy!! From an 8ur old boy about his unborn little sister
We called our kitten Daisy instead as Dp screamed at the very idea of such a faffy floral name

ScummyMummy · 17/06/2004 20:59

"Flower" is soooooooooooooooo sweet, forestfly.

Miriam2 · 17/06/2004 21:03

What is it with Virgil? Ds wanted that too, perhaps cos it's unusual? He wanted Jessica too but we knew that was cos of a crush he had on a little girl at nursery.

marthamoo · 17/06/2004 21:03

Ds1 came up with an eminently sensible name for ds2 (had he been a girl) - Marianne. To this day I don't know where he got it from, we don't know any Mariannes.

He reckons he chose Harry (ds2's name) ...funny, I let dh think he chose it too

tallulah · 17/06/2004 21:55

My dad & his sister wanted to call their new sister Pamela Irene. As their surname started with G, my gran decided that wasn't a good idea She went with Marion Irene instead.

My older 3 decided their brother should be called Cyril, because he looked like a squirrel.... (needless to say that isn't what he ended up with)

lucysmum · 17/06/2004 21:57

Dizzy (as in the cement mixer on Bob the Builder). Still use it as a nickname somtimes.

coppertop · 17/06/2004 21:59

My brother wanted me to be Zebedee if I was a boy. (Can you tell he was a Magic Roundabout fan? ) Scarily my mother actually considered it for a while!

Marina · 18/06/2004 12:03

Ds chose Eric or Erica for dd for when she was born, but while she was still inside she was known as Baby Ba.
Thomas, our still-born son, had been nicknamed Pabsino by ds before his birth, and we still often think of him by that name.
There are some classics on here! Why didn't we think of Three Piece Suite? Or Poo?!

Always remeber a little girl on Baby Tales wanting to call her little brother Bacon!!

DD changed her mind this morning - Girl - Red Flower, Boy - Blue Flower, still or Leaf!!

Last night she told Nanny that Boy would be called Tree though!! - God help us!!
