Well as I won the last game fairly and squarely Grin despite not being as quick as the old lags....I will start another game.

Gants Hill

Apologies for my absence of move a while back. In my defence it was past my bedtime and I was suffering a posttraumatic flashback to Great Aunt Mavis in her Nymph's costume!

However, returning to the matter in hand, I think we can now safely go to St James Park.

Andrewofgg · 04/09/2017 15:46

I remember that Nymph's costume. No matter how hard I try I still remember it. I blame the Squadron Leader. And Brexit.

In view of today's joyful tidings on we go to Park Royal.

MaudAndOtherPoems · 04/09/2017 15:47

Oh how bold! I haven't seen that move since Jamaica in '57. That MC party at Goldeneye was the talk of the island for weeks afterwards - in fact, wasn't that where Mavis first unveiled that rather outré nymph costume? Anyway, the way is now clear for me to play

Heathrow Terminal 4

ForalltheSaints · 04/09/2017 20:12

So around the loop we continue to Heathrow Terminals 123. And raise a duty free glass to the Duchess of Cambridge.

Andrewofgg · 05/09/2017 12:00

Alcohol-free of course.

And loops are for getting out of. We must stoop to conquer.

Hence Gatwick South.

ForalltheSaints · 05/09/2017 20:14

I claim the rule for non-stations. Which takes us back to the move before the last.

So via the Heathrow Express rule we end up at Paddington. Without a marmalade sandwich.

Andrewofgg · 06/09/2017 08:47

Non-stations at Full Moon? If you insist. We are all diverse now.

But the call of the wild is not to be denied which is why we are now at Luton Airport Parkway bags all packed for . . .

MaudAndOtherPoems · 08/09/2017 18:35

Montevideo, obviously

Andrewofgg · 08/09/2017 19:46

It is high time for the Game of Games to pay a loyal visit to Port Stanley

ForalltheSaints · 14/09/2017 16:35

It takes a few days but now we are back, arriving at Southampton, and boarding a train to Winchester

LateDad · 14/09/2017 16:59

I've been waiting for this ....

Ebbsfleet on the Eurostar bypass rules!

MaudAndOtherPoems · 14/09/2017 17:24

Wow, LateDad! I can't decide whether that's reckless, inspired or both. The only suitable riposte is

Arnos Grove

ForalltheSaints · 14/09/2017 20:23

Oh Arnos Grove, bane of the late running service that is truncated. The Cricklewood bus garage of the Underground! I think there was an attempt to play a game in the style of the game of games based on London bus routes (maybe by the group who travelled on every bus route over a period of five years, because they could, and wrote this blog about it). This pseudo game floundered because of unnamed bus stops somewhere near Mill Hill, as I recall.

I think that a visit to another station with 1930s architecture is called for and so make the one stop journey to Southgate. Keeping well away from the crowds going to watch association football, on a Thursday of all days.

Andrewofgg · 15/09/2017 09:02

Association football! Is that still going on? Why don't the schools teach that mass of humanity unequal to the rigours of Our Game something more useful like Ludo?

In view of the urgent need to defend myself against the aggressive and provocative actions in which the Jubilee Liners now see fit to engage - and of course Rule 133(xvii) as amended at Kinshasa at the infamous meeting on 31 November 2019 - I am obliged to cast caution to the winds and throw physic to the dogs and play

South Mimms

MaudAndOtherPoems · 15/09/2017 09:22

What? Have you truly lost your senses, old sport? South Mimms has been in Tremlock ever since that unfortunate business with the Tax inspector, the job lot of past their sell-by date pineapples and the Renault Espace.

We need to return to the straight and narrow, so

Watford Junction

LateDad · 15/09/2017 09:44

Oh no! Oh no!! Oh no!! Sad

I was hoping that you'd make a crosswise transfer, Maud, because then my next move was going to be Clapton leaving the open for Wake's Walk on the Central Line ... but I missed it.

But with South Mimms in play under rule 133 and the straight run to Watford Junction ... the best I can do is ....

Belsize Park (with Marillion reference for the Rushton's Rumbler)

Andrewofgg · 15/09/2017 11:19

Maud, I have found life so much better without my senses; I recommend it. Incidentally the straight is rarely narrow and the narrow is never straight.

We are, however, where we are, and the only way is Shenley.

LateDad · 15/09/2017 13:43

Andrewofgg - in which case ....

Sun Street Passage - played as an adjacent to Liverpool Street

Get out of that without risk of nidd!!

Andrewofgg · 15/09/2017 16:08

Child's play, LateDad - Hargreaves Twist to Taunton

MaudAndOtherPoems · 15/09/2017 17:47

Phooey. If it's a bucolic idyll you're seeking

Norwood Junction

LateDad · 16/09/2017 12:44

St John's Wood

... runs away laughing!

MaudAndOtherPoems · 16/09/2017 18:40

You need to stop laughing. Right now.

Moorgate

Andrewofgg · 16/09/2017 18:51

Now you are both taking the piss, LateDad and Maud. For one thing St John's certainly wouldn't and for another you have opened the magic door through the Fourth Dimension to Gateshead.

LateDad · 17/09/2017 14:39

Cheerful whistle ...

Newcastle Central

... and don't dare try a main line crossover, even if you invoke Bellamy's under rule 114.5a :)

Andrewofgg · 17/09/2017 14:47

I wouldn't stoop to anything so vulgar.

Berwick-upon-Tweed
