Have just briefed a second firm to quote . Was wondering what others may have paid for a 4 bed removal and whether inclusive of packing or not.

Here in Surrey we had three quotes - all around £1500 - moving from a 3 bed flat to big new house 500 yards up the road, no packing. We thought it outrageous so did it ourselves with a couple of friends.
In the past we've always used professional movers - for packing as well as they do it far more quickly and efficiently than me.

We've just had a quote for £850 to move a 4 bed house from Bristol to Cheshire.

We moved from London to Bristol from a 3 bed house (so it included an overnight) and had them pack everything. Cost around £1300 with GBLiners. They were excellent.

yikes, £1500 . Dare I ask who (similar part of the world!) ? First company was more thorough , looking in cupboards, taking notes and working out box by box, 2nd more bright and breezy with a more room by room approach ! Both local rather than national.

We moved 3 weeks ago and had similar quotes to you, so we hired a Luton van with tail lift and did it ourselves. It was hard work but worth it to sve money.
