Project Manage my way out of current job?

Hi, I'm in need of advice/ideas. I'm currently a Technical IT Trainer/consultant/team leader/centre manager (try getting all that on your business card...). Have also, in the past, been an administrator (and a bl**dy good one, if I do say so myself).
So need to get out of job, however, can't afford to take HUGE pay cut. Thinking maybe Project Management, but no idea how to get started. Any mners in this line of work, or anyone got any bright ideas?
Thanks....

Blackduck - What kind of Projects? I work very closely with the Project Manager here, but this is the Construction Industry. I assume you want to stay in IT?

Toothache - IT would be logical as it is my (current) background, but have, in the past, helped produce manuals and test materials, run conferences etc. so not wedded to the IT......Construction is probably out as I don't know the first thing about building!

Me neither and I've ended up as a Planning Engineer.
Are there ongoing projects where you are at the moment or would you need to leave the company and start afresh?

Toothache - need to leave and start afresh. Am involved in projects here, but need to leave due to management changes...also its time, done too long in this place

Anyone else got any ideas? Anyone know anything about Prince2 and how useful, or otherwise, it might be?
